IFIP Technical Committees and Work Groups

SEARCC sees a useful role in providing additional networks for IT interests outside the region. SEARCC renewed and strengthened its relationship with IFIP in 2004 to support its own broader objectives.

SEARCC is invited by IFIP to nominate representatives from SEARCC to IFIP Technical Committees and Work Groups. These representations in IFIP provides a process of bonding for IT practitioners, researchers and developers around the world. It also allows a sharing of regional resources to give substance to the principles of globalisation.

The nomination process is that each member society selects after inviting applications from its members and then makes its recommendations to SEARCC EXCO. SEARCC EXCO then sends its nominations to the respective Chairmen for acceptace.

The list of IFIP Technical Committees and Work Groups are available at the IFIP website.
